How we help
Modern software. Without starting over.
We examine your existing software, understand how your business operates, and identify the best way to modernize it. The right route depends on your system, and it’s often a mix.
- Route 1
Improve what still works
Strengthen and update the parts of your software that still serve your business well.
Best when
The core is sound, but it feels dated or fragile. - Route 2
Replace what holds you back
Swap outdated components for modern ones, without throwing everything away.
Best when
A few parts cause most of the pain. - Route 3
Rebuild in manageable stages
When a fresh start makes sense, we rebuild piece by piece so your team keeps working throughout.
Best when
The system has reached the end of its life.
Whichever route, we preserve
- Your business knowledge
- Your data
- Your essential workflows

FAQ
Questions owners ask us.
Getting started
Do I need technical knowledge or source code for the first call?
No. The free software assessment is a conversation about your business, the software you use and what’s going wrong. We only look at code later, if you decide to go ahead and are comfortable sharing it.
What if we don’t have the source code, or we bought the software?
Your options depend on what you have access to. If the software was built for you, we can usually work from the code, or from the database and the running system if the code is missing. If it’s a product you bought, such as an accounting package, we can’t change the product itself, but we can help you move your data to a better tool, connect it to your other systems, or build what it’s missing around it. Some of this needs the vendor’s permission, and the assessment tells you which options are realistic.
The developer who built our system has left. Can you still help?
Usually, yes. If we can access the source code, or at least the database and the running system, we work out what your software actually does from the system itself and from the people who use it every day. That knowledge goes into written documentation, so it never sits with one person again.
What does the modernization plan include, and can we stop after it?
The plan is yours to keep: our findings, the risks we found, recommended priorities and the proposed phases with estimated costs, plus a working preview of one workflow. It’s written so that any competent developer could use it, and you can stop after the plan with no obligation to continue. Ask during your free assessment and we’ll walk you through an anonymized example.
How long does a project take?
It depends on the size of your system and what you want to change. Your modernization plan sets out the scope and timeline before any build work starts.
Your data and confidentiality
How do you protect our existing business data?
Before anything changes, we take a full backup. We then run trial migrations on a copy, compare the results with your existing records, such as invoice counts, balances and customer totals, and ask you to check and approve them. We switch over only after your sign-off, with a tested plan to return to the old system if anything goes wrong.
How do you use AI tools with our code and data?
We use AI tools to help write and review code, never to process your live business data. We don’t share customer records, passwords or access keys with AI tools, and we work with test data or remove sensitive details first. If you’d prefer we don’t use AI tools on your code, or want to agree specific rules, we’ll put that in writing before work starts.
Will you sign an NDA?
Yes. We’re happy to sign your NDA, or provide ours, before you share any code or business details.
Is AI-written code safe to run my business on?
AI helps with repetitive work, but it doesn’t make the decisions. Dileepa reviews every change, and each part is tested before it replaces anything your team relies on.
Ownership and costs
Who owns the code and the accounts?
You do. The source code and documentation we produce are yours. Hosting, the code repository, your domain and backups are set up in accounts you own, or transferred to you at handover, and you keep admin access throughout. We only hold the access we need for the work, which you can remove at any time. The handover documents how to run, update and restore the system, so another engineer could take over.
What ongoing costs should we expect after the build?
Running software has costs beyond development: hosting, any third-party services or licences, and maintenance. Your proposal lists these separately as estimated monthly costs and compares them with what your current system costs to run, so you see the full picture rather than just the build price. Hosting and subscriptions are billed to you directly by the providers, and ongoing support from us is optional.
Working together
Will the work disrupt my business?
Every change is designed to minimize disruption. Where possible we upgrade one part at a time and keep your current system in use until each new part has been tested and accepted.
Will you help our staff get used to the new system?
Yes. We demonstrate each new part to your team before it goes live, test it with the people who’ll use it, and provide short training sessions and simple written guides. During each switch-over we’re on hand to answer questions and fix problems quickly.
What support do we get after launch, and what if you’re unavailable?
Every phase includes a 60-day warranty on delivered work. After that, ongoing support is optional and agreed in writing, including coverage hours and response times. As a founder-led business we’re upfront about coverage: your agreement states what happens if we’re unavailable, and because you hold the documentation and all the accounts, your system never depends on one person.
You’re based in Sri Lanka. How does working together look?
Calls are available 6am to midnight Sri Lanka time, which covers the working day in the UK, Europe, Australia and Asia, and mornings in the US. We agree a regular call time that suits you, send progress updates between calls, and you can try working software throughout the project. Everything is in English.
